All the English banks of the 20th century issued their own Travellers Cheques.  Earlier issues were often hand signed by local managers.  Later issues carried printed signatures and, yes, there are signature variations just like on banknotes.  The designs of Travelers Cheques were also regularly changed and developed in order to meet changing security and legal requirements. 

These variations in issuing banks, signatures and designs all lead to a profusion of varieties that tell a fascinating story.
